Today I worked from home. As always, there are lots of things going on around here.
One thing that has been bugging me, is that the AppleTV’s in the house would never play music. In fact I was having a bunch of little issues.
So I planned a little change to see if I could resolve my little issues.
Today I moved my iTunes library, and my iPhoto library to a 2.5TB external drive ( which now syncs to the server for backups). All of a sudden everything works perfectly…and it’s pretty darn cool. All the cover art works, the transitions on the screen are smooth, and no more “searching for music” errors. Best part is it uses less power than my media center pc (approx 12watt vs 400watt).
Dear apple, please learn how to work with NAS devices.
